Outwork Privacy Policy
Effective date: November 6, 2026
This policy explains what information Outwork (outworkjobs.com) collects, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain English. Questions: jobs@outworkjobs.com.
The short version
- We collect only what you give us in our forms, plus basic analytics about how the site is used.
- We use it to run the job board: send your application to the employer, send job alerts you asked for, and reply to employers.
- We never sell your personal information. We don't share it for advertising.
- You can ask us to see, fix or delete your information at any time.
What we collect and why
Forms you fill out
Our forms are hosted by Netlify, our website host, which stores what you submit. - Job applications: name, email, phone, city, an optional note, and your resume (uploaded file or a link). We also record which job you applied to and how you found it. We share this with the employer who posted that job so they can consider you. Once the employer has it, their own privacy practices also apply. - Job alerts: your email, the role and area you're interested in, and the page you signed up from. We use it to email you matching jobs. Every alert email lets you unsubscribe. - Employer forms (posting a job, contacting us as an employer): name, company, work email, phone, city and job details. We use it to publish your job and to follow up with you. - Waitlists (for job seekers and employers): name, email or phone, city and interests. We use it to tell you when Outwork opens in your area.
Forms include a hidden spam trap. We don't use your information to make automated decisions about you.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use the site, such as which pages get visited and which jobs get clicks. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_<ID>) that last up to about 2 years and help tell visits apart. It collects things like pages viewed, approximate location (city level), device and browser type, the referring site, and clicks on "Apply" and outbound links. We don't use advertising cookies, and we don't send your form answers to Google Analytics.
You can block cookies in your browser settings, or use Google's opt-out add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. For details on how Google handles this data, see https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Job feeds, apply links and tracking tags
We publish our job listings, which are job details only and never any applicant information, to free job search sites such as Adzuna, Talent.com and Jooble. The links in those feeds and in our social posts carry "UTM" tags (for example utm_source=jooble) so we can see which sites send visitors. When you click "Apply" on another site, that site's privacy policy applies until you reach outworkjobs.com.
Partner job listings
When we show jobs from partners (for example Mountain West Trades), our servers may record the IP address and browser user-agent of requests to those pages, the same way basic web hosting logs work. We use that only to run and secure the site (abuse, uptime, debugging). We do not sell it. Partner sites you leave to via "Apply on partner" have their own privacy policies.
Training Camp (coming soon)
Training Camp is a free training area. If you choose to sign in: - Sign in with Google uses Google's Firebase Authentication. It stores a unique account ID, your name and your email address. - Progress saving uses Google's Cloud Firestore database. It stores only your training progress and an optional display name you choose. Security rules let only you read or change your own record. Your browser also keeps a copy so the site works offline. - Analytics: when you're signed in, we send Google Analytics a random account ID (not your name or email) so we can count returning learners across devices. Signing out stops this.
To delete your Training Camp account or data, email jobs@outworkjobs.com from the address you signed in with and ask us to delete it. We'll remove your sign-in record and progress within 30 days. To remove the copy in your browser, clear this site's data in your browser settings. You can also remove Outwork's access from your Google Account at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Who we share information with
- Employers, but only your application, and only to the employer whose job you applied to.
- Service providers that run the site for us: Netlify (hosting and forms), Google (Analytics, Firebase and email). They handle data on our behalf under their own terms.
- The law: if required by law, or to protect people's safety or prevent fraud.
- A business change: if Outwork is merged or sold, information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for targeted advertising.
How long we keep it
- Applications: up to 2 years after you apply, so we can match you to future roles, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Job alerts and waitlists: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
- Employer contacts: as long as we have a working relationship, then up to 2 years.
- Training Camp: until you delete your account or ask us to, or after 2 years of no sign-ins.
- Analytics data: Google Analytics keeps event-level data for up to 14 months.
